JYOTI STARTS A NEW – MY JOURNEY AS AN ARTIST

Penning down my feelings has always been very dear to me… so it’s no surprise when colouring my imagination became my 2nd nature.. and that’s how canvas became my anchor and painting, the link to my expression.

My name is Jyoti Chordia and I seriously feel that this blog can aptly be named as JYOTI STARTS A NEW 😍… for it’s a new endeavour that I am plunging head long into ….

I have been painting for some time, though I had no particular theme going on for me. Then as if I was being guided, a theme emerged, as sure as light on a dark clouded sky. I started making lines, repetitive, as if hypnotised and Olaa… my 1st LINE PAINTING was born. It’s Gold, Red and Yellow colour shaped by black lines enhances the always present DIVINITY in my life.

And thus was born FINDING MYSELF

The object of my LINE paintings is not to focus on one central character or idea. The whole point is to take the WHOLE painting as a complete ONE. The lines connect the one to the one. They flow endlessly, sometimes in never ending circles, sometimes aimlessly moving around n out to show interdependency. They intertwine and flow in harmony n chaos …. As and how you take it.

This painting is darker in comparison to the work of other artists, bordering on black.. The sharp contrast is deliberate to show the stark difference in stillness and continuity. The fluidity depicted shows my need to connect with my feelings. They give me a sense of purpose, a sense of urgency to find myself….. and to loose myself.

I leave it up to the onlooker to connect with the lines and to feel the flow of emotions it invokes.
